Welcome to NorthCreek Academy and Preschool. We are committed to deliver a distinctly different Christian education through our classical approach, emphasizing mastery of the basics through chants, poems, songs and other valuable memory tools. Our students continue to benefit from small class sizes under faculty members who teach from areas of passion and strength. Students are challenged to think critically, exhibit curiosity and develop discernment that will enable them to confidently strive to excellence.
We were once known as “the best kept secret of Walnut Creek” because of our loving and caring staff, our reputable academics, our partnership with parents, and our hands on teaching methods. We are excited to expose the best kept secret to all of Walnut Creek and beyond and hope that NorthCreek is a place that draws your students to not only an excellent education but to a solid foundational relationship with Jesus Christ.
NorthCreek Preschool offers a Christian environment with age-appropriate activities that foster growth and development. Balancing child-initiated play and teacher-directed learning activities, the Preschool encourages independent thinking, experimentation and problem-solving.

Junior high students continue to benefit from small class sizes under faculty members who teach from areas of passion and strength. The core curriculum for junior high includes Bible, Latin, history, language arts (including classic literature and an emphasis on writing skills), science, and math.
During this stage, students compile information in an organized framework (or “grammar”). Emphasis on chants and repetition corresponds to a student’s ability to easily memorize and learn by rote during this phase of development, focusing on the “building blocks” of each core subject.
In the second stage, the student begins to use his reason to ask questions based on the information that he has gathered in the grammar stage. The student no longer sees the facts that he learned as separate pieces of information, but he starts to put them together into logical relationships, and develop stronger critical thinking skills.
With the first two stages serving as building blocks, students in the Rhetoric stage progress toward articulating their views. Students are learning how to think out loud; they become concerned with expressing themselves and how their ideas are coming across to others.
NorthCreek is registered with the GUIDESTAR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, whose mission is to revolutionize philanthropy by providing information that advances transparency, enables users to make better decisions, and encourages charitable giving. GuideStar gathers and disseminates information about every single IRS-registered nonprofit organization and provides as much information about each nonprofit’s mission, legitimacy, impact, reputation, finances, programs, transparency, governance, and more.
