The Academy’s first teacher accreditation workday may have meant a “day off” for students, but not for the teachers! The day began at 8:30am, with our school’s leadership team bringing an encouraging charge to the team reviewing our mission and core values, along with the privileged role we have to partner with parents.
The day long work sessions enabled staff to gather by grade levels, and within departments, reviewing our academic program’s strengths and areas for improvement.
Mr. Steele and the enrichment teachers worked on areas related to assessments and reporting, and we finished the day together studying our recent MAP assessments and discussing our plans to help students set goals for improvement in the year to come.
While we were hard at work, so was the Buildings & Grounds team, washing and tearing down the tent in the courtyard. We’ll get that back up in six months, just in time for our Annual Auction, and the warm weather that soon follows!
The day was full, the conversation rich, the time appreciated! All good elements of the day, helping us to contribute to the accreditation process!
