This past Friday, a sea of green flooded our NorthCreek Acadamy campus, as part of the commencement of our 2019 Auction Season! Students, whether pint-sized or tall, sported their “Facciamolo” logo—embracing the motto, “Let’s do this!” For me, having spent the last four years as an Academy parent, the unveiling of the shirts on campus is a sight that stirs up excitement and anticipation for what is to come.
As many of you also have witnessed in your time here, our annual auction is an event where God shows up in big ways with even bigger blessings. For the past several years, our main goal for auction fundraising has been to break ground on Phase III—the Gymnasium/Multi-Purpose building. It’s what I’d call a “big-fat goal,” especially here in the Bay Area. And, year-after-year, with this big-fat goal in front of us, the generosity has not just trickled in, but it truly has poured into our school. As Mr. Steele said in my first auction meeting four years ago, “We get to be in front row seats to see what God is doing.”
Who wants to join me in the front row this year? We can probably all agree that the community of our school is one of the biggest and best things that sets NorthCreek Academy and Preschool apart. When enrolling for the first time, I had no idea that in addition to a great school, I’d also be gaining a “village.” Like any village or community, each of us has been created and gifted with different skills and resources. We are uniquely gifted in serving with our time, our financial resources, our creativity, our aptitude to leverage connections and resources, our logistical planning capacities and in numerous other ways. So whatever your natural, God-given ability, let’s join together and “Let’s do this!”
There are so many ways to get involved with the auction, beyond joining the team. Whether it is gathering donations, inputting donations, helping with the catalog or working with our sponsors, we are always looking for help. Donations are a big way to support our team. Do you or someone you know have travel points, sports tickets, special experiences, or an interesting job to shadow? Or maybe you’d like to donate a gift card or a dessert for our dessert dash. We’d love to chat with you! To help get you started, connect with Jen Herrera, head of our procurement team, at jenniferlherrera@icloud.com.
Along with donations, we’re looking forward to filling the tent with generous buyers and cheerful givers. Tickets are already available online at our website, ncapauction.org! Gather three other couples and buy a $500 table, so you can be sure to sit with friends. Or, better yet, grab four other couples to sponsor a table and, as a table sponsor, you will enjoy fun perks such as game tickets, priority buffet and a table concierge.
Want to know more? The Wednesday bulletin is an excellent way to stay connected. The Auction Team will be posting announcements and donation needs weekly. And, to stay on-top of our progress, follow us on NorthCreek Academy’s Facebook and Instagram (@northcreek_aandp)!
This year’s 17th Annual Auction and Dinner will be the perfect time to enjoy fellowship with parents and friends—and, perhaps the best part is the kids won’t be around to interrupt conversations (can I get an AMEN??). I hope you’ll join me to see it all unfold under the Tuscan tent on Saturday, April 27th.
