The campus at NorthCreek Academy may be empty, but thanks to some hard work on the part of our dedicated staff, amazing things are happening in our “classrooms.” Today, after our first week of being up-and-running, we can honestly say that while NorthCreek Virtual Academy is different in some ways, in most ways it is still the same. Kids and teachers are in classrooms. Music, art, Latin, library and even PE are happening. We may be physically apart, but we are still together in our hearts as we spend time together each morning during our daily opening message. Yes, there have been changes and adaptations as virtual school becomes our new normal, but the thing that is completely unchanged is the goodness of God and His faithfulness to all of us during this time.
Pictures, notes and stories from our families are testaments to His faithfulness. These sweet messages give us a wonderful glimpse into what is happening in our students’ school days. And, being able to teach our students “face-to-face” each day is a tremendous blessing. This gift of technology that allows our teachers to share in the progress being made while we are apart, also helps us to feel still connected to each other not just as a school, but also as a family.
NorthCreek Academy teachers and staff are so thankful for your care and faithfulness to our school community. We want you to know that, as we walk this road with you, we all understand that this “shelter-in-place” is not easy. As the days pass, and the novelty of being home starts to wear-off, this situation will probably become harder. We hope that as challenges arise, you can choose to lean on God, trusting that He has a good plan.
Most of all, if you are feeling overwhelmed or start to despair, please reach-out. Remember, whether it is a spiritual need or a physical need, we want to know. Knowing that this is a hard time for so many families, we have created a special email – whether it is school or family-related, we are here for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact at us at caresupport@ncapschool.org.
We’d also like to welcome you to view Monday’s opening message from Mr. Steele.
