Socials/Spirit Week

Junior Highers have the opportunity to fellowship together during scheduled social events. These events are chaperoned by parents and staff and allow the students to get together and have fun outside of the classroom. These events include picnics, ice skating, sporting events, etc. The junior highers also experience a "spirit week" which is a fun-filled week to boost the kids' excitement about the school. It encourages comradery amongst teammates as well as creativity as students must think outside the box to dress according to each theme throughout the week.

Student Council

Students have the opportunity to serve and develop leadership and servanthood skills by campaigning for a student council position at the beginning of each school year. Under the leadership of teachers, council members are responsible for many events throughout the year and work together diligently to make them happen. Positions include president, vice president, PR manager, recording secretary, publicity, special events coordinator, and K-5 chapel coordinator.

Debate

Debate is another one of our programs here at NorthCreek and what an amazing program it is! Students join the elective and practice many times a week as a team under the leadership of one of our teachers. They participate in multiple tournaments throughout the school year against other schools anywhere from the Bay Area to Los Angeles.

Band

Music is a very important aspect to NorthCreek Academy. Students begin with band at an early age and participate throughout their time here at NCA. However, junior high students sign up to take band as an elective. They practice a few times a week to prepare for special events such as the Christmas band performance, spring musical and eigth grade graduation.

Praise Team

The junior high praise team is offered as an elective to lead the junior high in worship during the weekly chapels. Students are required to audition at the end of the previous school year. The instruments played include piano, drums, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and electric guitar, as well as a few vocalists and a backstage technician.

Family Child Care

Family Child Care is our before and after school daycare program. This program gives our working parents the option to leave their children in the care of a trusting environment. For more information about Family Child Care, please navigate to the "Family Child Care" page.

Learning Assistance

NCA offers a Learning Assistance Program to those who are struggling in the classroom. Students are scheduled to meet with a learning specialist individually to help them excel in the classroom. These meetings range from one to three hours per week based on the need of the student. For more detailed information on our Learning Assistance Program, please go to the "Learning Assistance" page.

Shine A Light Theater (SALT)

SALT is our after school drama program. Students sign up and audition for a semester-long program which includes weekly practices and a few productions throughout their term. The director, Miss Weight, demonstrates all kinds of exercises and games to teach the group how to express themselves in a dramatic fashion. For more information about SALT, please go to the "SALT" page.
